Qualcomm to release new 1.5GHz Snapdragon in Q1 next year

Link to Qualcomm to release new 1.5GHz Snapdragon in Q1 next year

Expect mobile devices to gain an unprecedented speed boost in Q1 next year, assuming Qualcomm’s new 1.5GHz Snapdragon will roll out by then. Seems that Qualcomm is really doing its level best to get the Snapdragon processor into tablets and handheld devices of the future, simply because it will have rivals in the form of the NVIDIA Tegra 2 and Intel Moorestown platforms. In this case, an Atom processor is enough, although Acer does not want to shortchange you with a dual-core Intel Atom D525 1.8GHz processor, throwing in 4GB RAM, NVIDIA ION 2 graphics with DirectX 10 and 3D support as well, a 500GB hard drive, Wi-Fi N connectivity, HDMI support and Gigabit Ethernet in case you’re so in love with cables. Expect the Acer Aspire Revo 3700 to retail for around $580 when it rolls out before the year is over

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the AG5900 comes with 4GB RAM, a 1TB hard drive, eight USB 2.0 ports, DVI-I and HDMI ports and a DVD optical drive. After conversion, it will retail for around $1,895 in the Land of the Rising Sun, although we look forward to a lower figure when official US pricing is released
