Arcane Arcade Table gets updated

Link to Arcane Arcade Table gets updated

Small game consoles have definitely damaged business for arcade machine sellers, but you still can’t help but love the classic that started it all.  Thankfully there are still certain companies that like to make very stylish and current arcade themed furniture.  Surface Tension’s Arcane Arcade Table may not be exactly new, but it’s getting some updates to make it an even sweeter deal.

Ferrowatch relies on magnetic principles to tell time

Telling the time has gotten a whole lot more complex than before as it no longer requires a simple glance at your wrist any more.

Bowei Building Blocks

Link to Bowei Building Blocks

We have reported on a lot of terrific building blocks in the past, such as glow-in-the-dark Bloxels , the wood and magnetic Tegu , and all sorts of things that are Lego. Just to let you know, these are not Lego. As a part-time Lego-maniac, I had a set that was a Battletrooper from Star Wars Episode I , and it was full of all sorts of Technic pieces that seem to shun the traditional square and rectangular pieces with bumps

Chirping Bird Alarm Clock

Link to Chirping Bird Alarm Clock

Waking up to the sound of birds chirping is a far sweeter way to rise than the obnoxious beeping from your alarm clock.  However, some don’t wake up in the morning to birds.  Be it because of working night shift or those birds just not being nearly reliable enough for your tastes, this alarm clock is one way to take care of those problems.  This dainty clock will chirp some life back into you whenever you need to pull yourself out of bed. It even has features for the visually impaired by being capable saying out loud, the time.  The clock is supposed to use actual recorded bird sounds instead of some fake bird noises made in a computer lab.  The bird shaped clock comes in white, blue and pink.  They’re priced at about $38 , but there is a small catch.  These appear to come from a Japanese vendor, so you’ll have to have them shipped to you for a decent amount of cash

Hunter Fanaway Retractable Fan

Link to Hunter Fanaway Retractable Fan

Now this is the way to do it if you’re not big on the look of ceiling fans.  Instead of spending a fortune on one just to get a trendy one, spend a fortune on one that disappears.  Sure, the light stays right there, but those fan blades tuck away until you’re ready to use them again.  With this you’re never stuck having a fan around at all times when you don’t need it. The great thing is that even when the fan is running, the blades are completely clear.  With the blades out, they’re not going to draw a whole lot of attention to themselves.  It doesn’t take a lot to bring those blades out either, it just uses a little centrifugal force.  This features things like brushed chrome, frosted white glass and even a remote control.  It is a bit expensive though.  You can purchase it for $559 through Hunter.

I realize that this certainly looks like a real dollhouse. After all, it has no outside wall on one side, and has pastel colored wallpaper.

Washable Thermometer Just For Women

Link to Washable Thermometer Just For Women

I’ve never felt the need to own his and hers thermometers.  After all, they all check your temperature well enough.  Sure, some are better to use on squirming children, but between men and women it’s all pretty much the same.  However, the Japanese feel very different than I do as it turns out.  Instead of sharing a thermometer, they have a special washable thermometer just for women. This Celsius thermometer features a backlight that’ll allow for you to even read the temperature in the dark.  Again, yet another thing that I didn’t think I needed.  It’s always so nice to have vendors out there to let you know what you didn’t know you always needed.  Like a pink little thermometer that can be washed up after you’re finished

Working Nokia Steampunk Cellphone

Link to Working Nokia Steampunk Cellphone

It would be hard to overlook the numerous steampunk gadgets that people have built and sold.  However, I can’t say that I’ve come across anyone that has as many and as broad of a collection as Ivan Mavrovic.  His features everything from a pen disguised as a gun, to toothbrushes and razors.  The most interesting out of the bunch are the several cellphones that he’s managed to steampunk. It appears his specialty is with Nokia phones since all of the phones he’s managed to steampunk appear to be Nokia phones.  Each one of the phones look very different from the rest.  They’re all fully functioning despite their antique appearance.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that these are up for sale, but it might be possible to contact the designer to have something like this made for you.  That is if you have a whole lot of cash that you’re willing to spend

Do you happen to own a netbook that you absolutely love, but there is just one thing which bugs you – it lacks an optical disc drive that could make it harder than usual to install new programs?
