Power Plug Concept Cover for little fingers

Link to Power Plug Concept Cover for little fingers

The idea that your house could ever be completely childproof is a bit of a pipe dream.  Sure, you can make it a whole lot safer, but there are always things you never would have thought could cause an injury.  The idea is to keep those injuries minimal and try to make them happen as little as possible.  One area that hasn’t been taken care of is when a metal plug slightly slips from a socket, leaving the metal exposed to curious fingers. I have never been worried that I’d shock myself on those metal pieces, but then I’m a full grown adult that knows to grab the plastic part.  Little kids haven’t always learned that and until they do, you might want something to make you worry less.  This blue cover will keep the metal covered whether it’s plugged in or not.  If the plug slips a little, the plastic will shift to cover it.  It’s just a concept right now by Luofang Jun, but I could easily see these hitting stores as just simple little adapter for your current plugs. Electric Walker from Alinco talks you through running

Link to Electric Walker from Alinco talks you through running

The newer treadmills have really handy programs and screens.  They help you to go faster and slower when needed as well as add some inclines to the mix.  It’s a pretty standard feature, but this Electric Walker 3010 from Alinco gives some extra features to help you really get a whole lot out of your workout. The treadmill has voice commands that will let you know when you need to go faster, but it even lets you know when you’re doing something wrong too.  It also has inclines that’ll help you to have better posture while you’re running or walking.  If you’re someone that doesn’t like to watch that tiny screen, it’ll be a nice change.  It also folds away for easy storage in small spaces.  You can purchase one for $592.

Golden Robot USB Drive looks familiar…

Link to Golden Robot USB Drive looks familiar…

It’s funny how you can see something and it just so strongly reminds you of something else you’ve seen before, like this very subtle Golden Robot USB Drive that I just can’t seem to put my finger on.  Every time I glance at it I just hear this annoying voice yammering off a bunch of ridiculous survival statistics.  It’s just the strangest reaction.  Clearly this robot is nothing more than a gold robot and that’s it. Alright, so it’s obvious they were just trying to dodge having to give George Lucas some royalties by not coming out and calling this robot C-3PO.  What’s odd is that this is actually a little nicer than some of the C-3PO toys I’ve spotted.  By just skipping out on the facial features it makes this one look a little more well made.  A lot of times if you don’t think you can do something right, by just skipping that entirely it makes things look a whole lot less cheesy.  You can pick up the 4GB USB drive for $25 through Gadget4all .

Hello Kitty iPod Dock

Link to Hello Kitty iPod Dock

I can’t say that I’ve ever quite understood the Hello Kitty trend.  However, I am a big believer in companies offering several docks and speakers to fit a wide range of tastes.  You shouldn’t be stuck with a plain black set of speakers if you’re a pink and white fanatic.  Those of you that are into Hello Kitty or have a relative that is can pick up this dock for a not too bad price. It comes in white as well as an all over pink version.  This Japanese dock has surface mounting technology and lossless energy amplication technology.  It offers 360-degree sound output that’ll keep it from sounding like a novelty speaker that you just picked up because it featured your favorite cat.  It quite obviously features an iPod dock, but you can also plug other audio devices in through the stereo output.  You can pick one of these up for 14,800 yen or about $175 . Starlite LED Light does double duty

Link to Starlite LED Light does double duty

Book lights are very handy for big time book lovers, but only every now and then.  I don’t know of anyone that uses it on a daily basis.  That often means that it gets forgotten in the bottom drawer and you leave it with a dead battery for far too long just due to not thinking of it.  This Starlite USB Rechargeable Light has a little bit of an edge in that area.  Not only does it function as a book light, but it’s also a desk lamp. Sure, it’s not a large desk lamp, but when you’re not using it to clip onto your favorite book it can be used for small tasks.  Plus, I absolutely love that it charges up through the USB port, because it means that you’re not stuck remembering to make a battery trip.  Beyond that it’s a very basic light, but it has all the best features to make sure that you’ll get a whole lot of use out of it.  You can pick one up for $25 through the MoMA Store .
